Landmarks Downtown Walking Tour volunteer guides are skilled ambassadors and educators. They develop and conduct engaging public & private tours and serve as interpreters of St. Louis' architectural history. Although our guides come from all walks of life, they share a few common traits. Each of our guides is a curious and creative lifelong learner. They are passionate about the history and architecture of St. Louis. They are flexible, open to feedback, and enjoy interacting with people from all over the world.

  • Are you passionate about St. Louis and its history?
  • Do you have some knowledge of local history and architecture?
  • Do you enjoy public speaking?
  • Do you like engaging with people from all over the world?

Our program of Guides-training-Guides offers a comprehensive framework of facts and stories about the history, culture, and architecture of Downtown St. Louis. Guides in training work in tandem with seasoned guides until they are comfortable with both the material and the practical aspects of the tours. Each guide is free to do further research and add additional facts, stories, and anecdotes about the buildings along the route. We also provide our Guides with Downtown Walking Tour brand t-shirts and buttons.

Our Downtown Walking Tours are two to two-and-a-half hours long and take place rain or shine. Publicly scheduled tours run every Saturday, April through October. Additional tours are also provided upon request. For now, we ask that volunteer guides commit to giving at least two (2) tours each month.
